The casting off of The Daily Post after 7 years has left many bloggers adrift with feelings of abandonment. The Powers That Be also removed the page that listed community organized events that was available there, but fortunately you can still find it in The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.
If you can, donate a coin or two or ten to the Internet Archive. What they do is sacred.
There have been alternatives suggested by The Daily Post itself in their final Thank You post, but it basically boils down to tagging your posts appropriately in order to find like-minded bloggers in the Reader. Tagging your posts is a good idea regardless, but it certainly doesn’t replace the feeling of community that was The Daily Post.
That is what is truly gone.
