Hard to believe that we’re only a month and a week away from WordCamp Jerusalem 2013! This year’s full-day event is scheduled for February 20th at the Leonardo Hotel in Jerusalem. While the details are still barely penciled in, it appears that this event will again be focusing on the local, Hebrew-speaking WP community as it did in 2011.
Even though we don’t know much yet about who will be presenting at WordCamp Jerusalem and what the topics will be, we do have history to go on since the previous events directed by Miriam Schwab and her Illuminea team have been excellent. Feel free to check out my posts on the earlier events from 2011 and 2010:
- 2011: WordCamp Jerusalem – September 12th
- 2011: And we’re finally live from #WCJeru

- 2010: Good Morning from WordCamp Jerusalem (almost!)

Trying to squeeze an event such as this into one day is very ambitious, to say the least, and I’m really hoping that this year’s tracks will be organized in a way that we won’t have to sacrifice one session over another. Besides content creators, curators and administrators, there are devs and designers on all levels and also curious newcomers. It may be impossible to create a program where everyone’s needs are met, but Illuminea does a darn good job trying.
Looking for a Roomie: This year I’m seriously thinking of booking a room at the hotel hosting the event and getting there the night before rather than trying to deal with both Tel Aviv’s and Jerusalem’s morning traffic (not to mention lack of sleep the night before and the agony of being on the road before 7am). If this is something that you’d be interested in doing as well, let me know in the comments so that I can approach the organizers for a special room rate.
Here’s to an illuminating WordCamp Jerusalem 2013!
